The AudioCast M5 is a small, simple gadget. The top looks sort of like a tiny record, but the device is only about 2.2 inches across. At about .67 inches high, a little thicker than a 0.53 inch ChromeCast Audio, but it’s still small enough to slide into just about any pocket. One more thing you’ll find on the side of the AudioCast M5 is a WPS button. Fire up the AudioCast app on your Android or iOS device, select the option for adding a device, and tap the WPS button when you’re ready to pair the hardware with your phone or tablet. Speaking of size, this thing is small! The AudioCast M5 fits easily into the palm of your hand, it completely made out of plastic and has nearly no weight at all to it. This makes it easy to hide it behind your electronics somewhere, in case you don’t want it to be seen. Hide it behind the TV or the receiver, and no one will know it even exists. It is shaped like a small hockey puck, and the top has a design similar to that of a record. There are two ports: one for a 3.5mm audio cable and another for a micro USB cable which serves as a power cable.

AudioCast application
The app’s actually your main interface to the AudioCast M5. It handles pretty much everything – from choosing music to updating firmware. AudioCast is an easy-to-use music software. It supports to connect with multiple Wi-Fi speakers and remote control the devices. It can give you complete enjoyment while listening to your favourite music. AudioCast also provides the most powerful playback option, allowing you to synchronically stream the same music or different music from cellphone, NAS, UPNP server and online music services of thousands of online music and radio stations like vTuner, Spotify, Tidal, iHeartRadio and Tunein with awesome sound quality. Users can rename the connected devices based on personal preference.

The app is fairly intuitive and looks reasonably good. Music sources are listed in the panel on the right, including your smartphone, DLNA servers on your network and music services such as Spotify, Pandora and even Tidal. Apple’s AirPlay is also supported by choosing the AudioCast as an AirPlay receiver. The app’s music player looks nice. Playing back music features the song details, with audio controls at the bottom. A spinning record player features cover art and a blurred version of the cover art as a backdrop which looks pretty cool.

How to connect AudioCast for the first time
You will need a Audiocast device, a Android/iOS mobile and the Audiocast APP. AudioCast APP is available at Google Play or App Store by searching for AudioCast. Please note, Audiocast only support 2.4GHz WiFi for first time connection, after first time connection you can change to use 5GHz WiFi.
- Firstly, please use USB cable to connect power adapter and AudioCast Streaming box, and plug the power adapter in socket.
- Connect AudioCast M5 with your stereo speaker using 3.5 jack plug or RCA breakout cable. You just have have to check that your stereo have at least an “Aux In” connection.
- Connect AudioCast M5 to Wi-Fi. Connect your phone or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network as your audio device. The app will remind “searching for WiFi connection” by voice after 10-15 seconds, we will finish the set-up for AudioCast streamer.
- Run AudioCast app. Type the password of your home router, then press the WPS button on AudioCast, waiting for connection.
- Choose the music from your phone, Nas, or online music services. While casting you can continue using your phone to take a phone call, play a game, and even leave the room, all without interrupting what's playing on the speakers.
