UMi Z – Our Milestone on a New Journey!

The model UMi Z has a great significance for the company UMi for several reasons, and to offer an incredibly balanced hardware setup for the best possible user experience is the most important one. Remarkable Precision
UMi promised to bring aesthetics, quality, and usability to a whole new level. The UMi Z’s metal unibody is carved from a single slab of premium aluminum, resulting in an ultra-thin design that is solidly built. The company spent months on upgrading and perfecting both techniques and hardware to create a unique full metal body design (a premiere for UMi), and some incredibly thin Nano 3D cutting lines on the sides which makes them visually comfortable. The ergonomic design of the curves also makes it very comfortable in hand. For colors, UMi chose Gray and Gold to highlight the metallic texture.

Meticulous Craftsmanship
UMi chose premium full-CNC processing to create a solid body within an 8.2 mm thickness. We also adopted a unique reinforced design to increase the plate thickness to over 0.5 mm. Advanced nano injection molding technology is introduced to largely improve the frame strength and quality while keeping the final weight down to 175g, a great result considering the materials and the big battery. The entire body - including places you may not notice such as the loudspeaker, microphone and SD card slot - is polished and chamfered to deliver a shining and smooth touch. Maximum care even on the most unnoticed parts of the device. Also, the internal space is carefully optimized to allow a better thermal management of the CPU. A fundamental challenge of full metal bodies is the quality of antenna signal, often an issue for many manufacturers. Thanks to the big improvements in antenna technologies, the company found an efficient and elegant solution to solve it. We chose the PBT injection molding material, adding two very thin stripes on the full metal body with advanced electrochemical processing technology, this creates deep 3D nano structures on the magnalium surface, tightening the cohesion between the metal and injection molding parts.

BLUBOO Dual vs Oukitel U20 Plus, Which Dual Camera Is More Worthy of Purchasing?

Dual camera phones are the current flavor of this year and an increasing number of the Chinese manufacturers are trying to release such devices ahead of their competitors. Well, now we have two new smartphones both with rear dual camera setup available nearly at the same time — the BLUBOO Dual and the Oukitel U20 Plus. You must get allodoxaphobia between the two, well, we’ll help you get over it.

Actually the speculations of the two handsets are very similar: both of them are equipped with MT6737T quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM of storage, 13.0 MP rear camera with SONY IMX135 sensor, 8.0 MP front camera, 5.5inch SHARP display with FHD resolution, rear fingerprint scanner, and Android 6.0 as the OS. But surely there are many remarkable distinctions.

For starters, the secondary rear camera of the BLUBOO Dual is a 2.0 MP one while the Oukitel U20 Plus packs a 0.3 MP one. For fingerprint identification, the Dual model could unlock the screen in less than 0.1 second. And the Dual is also added with a gyroscope and OTG function for more enjoyable user experience.

You must be curious about the two devices’ prices now. It’s known that both BLUBOO and Oukitel aim to offer budget-friendly smartphones so the two devices’ prices won’t be set too high: $99.99 for the Oukitel U20 Plus and $114.99 for the BLUBOO Dual. The price difference is indeed minor as well.

The Black UMi Plus E gets benchmarked: More than 60000 points in AnTuTu

We have learnt a lot about the UMi Plus E, the latest flagship of the company, which is the first Helio P20 Smartphone to hit the stores soon. In previous news, we discovered the brand new Onyx Black color, made the same way as iPhone 7's Space Gray, and we also discovered that more than 125 processes are required to obtain the premium crafted metal body. Today, we're going to see a new aspect of the phone, probably the most awaited one: The performance of the Helio P20 and the 6GB of RAM.

More Power, less energy consumption, smooth as silk – UMi Plus E in action
On the video released today, after a brief look at the very appealing Onyx Black body of the UMi Plus E, we immediately see the phone undergo the most popular benchmark test for smartphones, AnTuTu Benchmark. The result gives a score of more than 60,000 points, an increase of over 20% compared to the Helio P10,  while the new productive process at 16nm offers 25% less power consumption and less heat dissipation.

On the GPU Side, we can see an increase of over 25% compared to P10, with a 3D score of more than 11,000 points, so there's no problem on the gaming side. Then, we see all the importance of having a massive 6GB of LDPDDR4: more than 50 apps are launched without giving the phone a break, they all stay in the cache and don’t slow the phone at all, even after launching games or browsing the Internet.

Not only SoC and RAM - Redefining the “budget flagship” concept

Oher: The stock firmware is very smooth and I didn’t find any problem so far. Transitions, animations, apps switching and general OS fluidity is just great, I really like it a lot. During my tests, I experienced zero force closes, hangups or stability issues. Google Play and gapps are working without issue. Google Play Services updated no problem. 3rd party apps downloaded and updated without issues.
