This is an easy steps tutorial on how to install Windows 10 Pro latest build on Chuwi Hi8 tablet:
1. Download latest Windows 10 Pro x86 build - en_windows_10_pro_10240_x86_dvd - from here. If you have problems, you can use the provided MediaCreationTool - for Win10.
2. Copy it on a micro SD card or USB flash, insert it into Chuwi Hi8 tablet, mount the image and start install the Windows 10 setup. In my case, I choose a clean install. Finish the setup and finally reboot into Windows 10 Pro.
3. Download Windows Drivers for Chuwi Hi8 tablet from here or here. For the Chuwi Hi8 drivers, please use Doubledriver to restore them all at once, alternatively you can extract and install them one by one, but it’s more laborious. If you have problems with the calibration of the display, make sure to install 'chuwi-hi8_touch'. Reboot the system. [Update] You can also download the full backup of Windows 10 drivers - BayTrail 02.08.2015 13-33-46.rar - from here or here. Use the provided Double Driver application to simply restore the missing drivers from the collection, just locate the extracted folder.
4. To switch to Android just download and install Insyde_Q2S software. Download Insyde_Q2S from here, here or here.

@Roni Alush & @יוסי
Read the article again, it is updated.
Use Double Driver to restore the drivers as you wish...
Why can not I open the new files uploaded?
full backup of Windows 10 drivers - BayTrail 02.08.2015 13-33-46.rar
Thank you
Sorry to ask so much

But I still have a problem with touch screen

Mannually update driver 'chuwi-hi8_touch' for KMDF HID Minidriver for Touch I2C Device. It should work
Thank you very much
I was able to install only after I installed as administrator
And now all works
So once again, thank Yossi
Looks like a bunch of work. I just did the upgrade and the upgrade allowed me to store files on my SD card so I had more space afterwards than before!
Hi
Thank you for a great resource. Are the Double driver package drivers backed up from the official Chuwi Windows 10 image?
anyone know how to get in touch with customer service for this device ?
I messed up with the touchscreen calibration, and now have no access, since the screen is not responding can't type my Pin#, trying to look for the reset button, no luck ... big mess any idea ....(-:
Tnx in advance
Yair
I more or less followed these instructions (and from here: http://techtablets.com/forums/topic/windows-10-upgradeclean-installation-guide-for-dummies/
A few points:
- Make sure the tablet is fully charged before attempting this.
- The first USB hub I tried lost the mouse, the second (powered) hub worked.
- I had to download the x86 version of Win10.iso using the Chuwi in Win8 since my x64 laptop couldn’t do this.
- The USB sticks used have to be formatted FAT32
- When you go into Boot Manager, choose EFI USB Device (3rd entry I think)
- Have a magnifier glass ready!
- During Win10 install, skip all the product ID entries and after the MS agreement, be fast to select “Custom”
- For custom install you need to select Drive 0 Partition 17 Windows 14.8Gb and Format this.
- On the next boot skip product key and choose express settings (you have to do this twice).
- After start-up, right click on desktop, display settings and set size to 200% - much easier!
- Put Double Driver & drivers on a 2nd USB stick. Install DD and select Drivers Folder. Restore all drivers at once – trying individual ones results in a boot loop.
- Connect wi-fi and run Updates from Settings – there will be quite a few.
- Install Insyde Switch to Android
- I’m still not quite sure how I got touchscreen working again. I installed all the drivers and Chuwi-hi8_touch, but it still didn’t seem to work until (maybe?) I re-booted without any USB keyboard/mouse attached. Once touch screen was working I could log-in using the touchscreen keyboard and then attach a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse.
- I was concerned about activation. I kept clicking the Activate button in Settings for about a week. It kept saying “can’t do this now” and then yesterday it was Activated! No product key ever entered.
- Win10 works well on the Chuwi. The only problem is lack of memory – 3Gb free with Chrome, Word, Excel and Paint Shop Pro installed. It would be nice to be able to install programs on the SD card or remove some of the Win10 bloatware
Just force install hi8 _touch drivers. It will work even it says it is not ment for this device.
If I buy a new chuwi hi8 from banggood , will it have windows 10 already installed

Hello, I should restore all drivers from dd or only selected?
Does anyone else have issues downloading large files for this device in Windows? I've tried uninstalling the WiFi device driver and reinstalling it and there is still problems. Downloads will start fine, downloading at 7Mbps, but then drop to 0. Using the NetPerf utility to monitor wireless activity. Have also tried using a USB Ethernet device with the same problem.
Cheers! Works a charm.
I forgot my password and had to reset. Windows wouldnt re-install. How can I get it back??
