The charging box is quite small and very portable and can be kept in just about any pocket. On the front of the charging case, there is the brand name in black. On the back of the charging case, there is the micro USB charging port and 4 LEDs that show the built-in case battery charge level. On the inside, there are the 2 charging slots for the earbuds and the gold plated tips that make contact for charging. These earbuds are controlled by one button multi-function controls which makes them very easy to use.
The BlitzWolf BW-FYE1 earbuds are equipped with an Airoha AB1526P chip which is Bluetooth 5.0 dual mode certified, therefore a significant upgrade over the last generation. Furthermore the earbuds feature independent sound chambers with 10mm titanium film driver units for better sound quality. As for the pairing process, it is surprisingly fast and easy: after you take the earbuds from the case, they’ll immediately turn on and wait to be paired to your Bluetooth device.
I was pleased with the comfort of the tips and with the overall fit. The button on each of the earbuds proved to be responsive and had a refreshing click-feel. I liked the little wing along the back of each of the earphones, as it served as a stopper when placing the device into your ears. To install the earbuds, place the eartip into your ear, with the long axis of the earphone angled toward the ground. Simply grip the earphones and rotate the right earbud counterclockwise ninety-degrees, while rotating the left earbud clockwise. The posterior wing will slip into the concha cymba of your ear and then rest along the posterior-inferior crus of your ear lobe.
Using my mobile phone Xiaomi Mi 6, I could immediately see the BlitzWolf BW-FYE1 (while using both earbuds, you’ll be able to pair to the right one and, if using only one earbud, you’ll be able to pair to either of them via Bluetooth – they’ll automatically work in mono mode) and, if I would put the earbuds immediately in my ear, I could hear the ‘Pairing successful. Connected’ confirmation message. The maximum advertised range is about 10 feet, but I could go as far as 15-20 feet with a wall in between the phone and the earbuds and the connection was fine – anything further and I started to experience stutters.
Both BlitzWolf BW-FYE1 earbuds have a microphone built-in, so you can either use both during a call or a single earpiece. During a call, I could hear the other person reasonably clear and the microphone does a good job – the other person was able to clearly hear me.
