Video & Photo Gallery: RKM MK36S Windows 10 Mini PC Bios Settings

The AMI BIOS of Rikomagic MK36S Mini PC is one of the most complete among those available on Windows Mini PCs. It really has dozens of options not available on other products. You will find also an Android section. Here you'll find a Video & Photo Gallery with unboxing of RKM MK36S Mini PC and here is the first run of the device. High resolution photo album here.

If you need it, I have made a back-up og Rikomagic MK36S Windows 10 Mini PC. You caan download it from here, here or here. (2,82 MB).

I advise everyone to make a copy of a working BIOS, if possible, before doing BIOS experiments. To do that you can simple use the provided afuwin-5.05.04 software from the links above. If you disabled USB in the BIOS, or if you did another mess in device BIOS, only overwriting NVRAM can reset BIOS settings. In this way, there is no need to open the case, to teardown the device to be able to reset the CMOS. All the actions are made from Windows environment, so your Mini PC has to be able to boot into Windows. All the following actions that are you will do next are entirely at your own risk.

BIOS details
Archive name: Rikomagic MK36S BIOS back-up

Compliancy: UEFI 2.4, PI 1.3
Project version: 1ARXP 0.38 X64

For flashing NVRAM:
1. Download the above archive. It is better to extract the content to the disk C.
2. Open as administrator Afuwingui.exe \afuwin\32\AfuWin32\Afuwingui.exe.
3. Open original backuped bios. Uncheck default 'Main BIOS Image' and check only NVRAM box. Press Flash. And best of all, start a command prompt as administrator and type, for example: C:\AfuWin32\afuwin.exe BIOS.rom /N
4. Press exit and restart the PC. After boot go into the BIOS and reset settings to default.

Thanks for your article.
However, I bricked my device by using your BIOS file.
I tried yours because mine has several BIOS options less.
My BIOS date was 11/13/2015, only one day difference...
Version nr the same.
The good news is, that I dumped my BIOS before overwriting it,
but for some reason, I can't get it working again.
I'm using a MiniPro programming device for the W25Q64FW chip,
and I can read/write the contents, but this chip can hold
64MBit, and the dumped file is only 32MBit. It looks like that
the contents of this file need to starts at 0x0400000 in the chip (if I compare with the contents I read), but I think I need the first block of 32MBit as well??

Any ideas?

I fixed my device by using a Tronsmart X5 BIOS. They are using exactly the same Cherry Trail CPU/MEM module as the MK36S.
The BIOS file need to be 8MB, just like I suspected above, so be carefull by using the bios files above!!!
And I must say that the customer support of the Tronsmart is far better than Rikomagic, which is virtually non existing.
I asked Rikomagic customer support for a BIOS file, and never got any answer...
